Membership

If you live in or near Mapleton, are 18 years of age or older and in sound physical condition, you're invited to apply for membership in the city's most critical volunteer organization.

The Mapleton Fire Department will provide you with training, equipment and the satisfaction of knowing you have participated in saving lives and property.

The basic requirements for membership are:

  • Be of good moral character
  • Be at least 18 years old at the time of application
  • Complete a medical examination
  • Complete to a written, oral and physical agility test

Activity Requirements

  • You are required to attend 18 of 22 meetings the first year.
  • You will be required to attend a 40-hour Emergency Medical Responder Course.
  • You will be on a one year probation period.
  • You may be asked to help with fire prevention education.

Benefits

Members are paid $17.00 per fire and/or rescue call and meeting that they attend.
After one year you are eligible to be enrolled in the Mapleton Volunteer Fire Relief Association.

Social Events

The social events include a Firemen's Annual Dance, Christmas Party, and other fundraisers.
